Super Salsa Sunday: Salsa Senorita Scores with Game Day Recipes
“Legally Addictive Salsa” Spices up Super Bowl Parties
(Birmingham, AL) Football fans can add Salsa Senorita to their game day line-up for Super Sunday, February 5th. Salsa dominates the Super Bowl of American condiments, with more than 270 million units of salsa being consumed annually in the U.S. according to Bloomberg Business Week. Salsa has been outselling ketchup for more than a decade, and sales continue to rise with chips and salsa recognized as the “go to” snack for Super Bowl Sunday.
“One reason salsa sales have continued to grow so dramatically is that American tastes demand it. Spicy foods continue to be very popular among consumers”, says Salsa Senorita co-founder and TV cooking personality Lori Sours who adds, “ we’re all much more conscious about the nutritional value of foods; we’re looking for flavorful foods that have been minimally processed and Salsa Senorita brand salsas provide an all-natural, no- preservative option. Our salsa really is vegetables in a jar.”
Lori and her brother Mark Coffman, native New Mexicans, created the Salsa Senorita line of all-natural salsa from a favorite family recipe after realizing there was not a truly authentic, all-natural southwestern salsa on the market. Lori and Mark share their passion for authentic southwestern cuisine on the company’s website, www.salsasenorita.com where Lori also shares some of her salsa-making sensibilities. “It isn’t all about the tomatoes; it’s about all the fresh ingredients- the tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and spices blended together. That’s why we call it the ‘legally addictive’ salsa,” says Lori.
Salsa plays at the top of its game not only as a dip but as a spicy, healthy recipe staple. It’s a key player in a variety of popular game day snacks including classic guacamole, Salsa Senorita corn soufflé dip, salsa con queso and Mexican bruschetta. Party recipes, step-by-step cooking demos and a free recipe newsletter can be found at www.salsasenorita.com.
Salsa Senorita brand salsas are all-natural, uncompromisingly fresh and free of preservatives. Salsa Senorita is offered in four varieties: Hot, Medium, Mild and Roasted Garlic and is available at fine grocery stores and specialty food markets including Western Supermarkets, Piggly Wiggly, V Richards, Whole Foods, Manna Market, Tuscaloosa, Earth Fare , Huntsville and online at www.salsasenorita.com.

Hot Idea for Valentine’s Day- Salsa Senorita’s “Oysters Rock-ya-fella”
(Birmingham, AL) Salsa Senorita’s Valentine seduction dinner boasts a simple menu that begins and ends with the first course: Salsa Senorita Oysters Rock-ya-fella paired with a Fire and Ice Martini. Oysters Rock-ya-fella will have your Valentine coming back for more, and the Fire and Ice Martini will melt him into a hunk of burning love.
Where is the love? Little blue pills have nothing on oysters, a time-honored aphrodisiac, long revered for inspiring passion. The oyster’s legacy as an aphrodisiac dates back to Roman times, though some argue there’s no hard evidence to support this claim. “Who cares about the facts? Valentine’s Day is for those who prefer to indulge rather than argue. Turn off your Smartphone and forget about running to Wikipedia to prove your point,” says Salsa Senorita who advises lovers to push aside their sensibilities and jump right into an evening of intrigue.
The secret to this sensual St. Valentine-inspired dish is of course the salsa on top. Oysters Rock-ya-fella is simple to make: take a dozen fresh oysters on the half-shell, top with a teaspoon of Salsa Senorita brand salsa, and that’s it. The salsa provides a fresh alternative to the classic vinaigrette and cocktail sauces usually served alongside oysters on the half shell. “The timid can still enjoy the fresh oysters and all their benefits au’ natural, with perhaps a saltine cracker on the side,” suggests Salsa Senorita who intimates that when buying oysters at her local market she always slips the butcher a crisp twenty dollar bill to do the shucking duties so she’ll have time to properly prepare for the evening.
As for the Fire and Ice martinis, gin or vodka are both acceptable. The recipe is a snap: premium vodka or gin, a whisper of vermouth and a jalapeno-stuffed olive. “Top shelf all the way, the better the sprits, the better the martini”,says Salsa Senorita. Shaken or stirred? Be open-minded, she advises, after all, it’s Valentine’s Day.
When she’s not dispensing advice on romance and a host of other topics, Salsa Senorita (also known as Lori Sours) is marketing “The Legally Addictive Salsa” that she and her brother Mark Coffman created for their company El Nuevo Foods. Salsa Senorita brand salsas are all-natural, uncompromisingly fresh and free of preservatives.
